Arusha, 15 May, 2017: The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) tomorrow (16 May) will hear an application 046/2016 of Action Pour la Protection des Droits Humains (APDH) and Institute of Human Rights Development in Africa (IHRDA) v Republic of Mali at its seat in Arusha, the United Republic of Tanzania.
APDH & IHRDA, among others, allege violation by the Republic of government of Mali of women rights under the Maputo Protocol.
The public hearing will be held at the Kibo Hall at the AfCHPR premises at the Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) complex, Burka area, along Dodoma Road.
The hearing will begin at 09:00 am and the public is invited. The case summaries and other Court information can be obtained on www.african-court.org.
The hearing is part of the 45th Ordinary Session which began on 8th May, 2017 .The Judges will also examine over 80 applications and four Requests for Advisory Opinion.
