Arusha, 10 June, 2019: The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights today started its 53rd Ordinary Session at its Seat in Arusha, Tanzania. The four-week session will end on 5 July.
The Judges, among others, will examine over fifteen applications and at least five judgments are expected to be rendered.

1. The Court is composed of eleven Judges, nationals of Member States of the African Union elected in their individual capacity.
2. The Court meets four times a year in Ordinary Sessions and may hold Extra-Ordinary Sessions.
